Intensification of oxygen-dependent biotransformations catalyzed by immobilized enzymes

چکیده
Oxidative biotransformations find a prominent role in the fine chemical industry and valorization of renewable feedstocks. Implementation oxygen-dependent reactions faces some challenges across scales at different levels development. First, fruitful development enzyme candidates identification reaction possibilities is not consonance with implementation process engineering. Second, engineering complex interplay kinetic, oxygen transfer stability. Third, given advances synergic fields such as molecular biology, chemistry, material sciences, (micro)process engineering, an interdisciplinary assembly from consistent discipline around heterogeneous biocatalyst would be strategic value. We show design active robust immobilized catalysts to applied (continuous) intensified processes. A framework based on joint catalyst reactor will discussed for optimization involved.

Alkylphenol biotransformations catalyzed by 4-ethylphenol methylenehydroxylase.
4-ethylphenol methylenehydroxylase from Pseudomonas putida JD1 acts by dehydrogenation of its substrate to give a quinone methide, which is then hydrated to an alcohol. It was shown to be active with a range of 4-alkylphenols as substrates. 4-n-propylphenol, 4-n-butylphenol, chavicol, and 4-hydroxydiphenylmethane were hydroxylated on the methylene group next to the benzene ring and produced the...
متن کاملRecent advances in oxygenase-catalyzed biotransformations.
Oxygenases continue to be widely studied for selective biooxidation of organic compounds. Protein engineering has resulted in heme and flavin monooxygenases with widely altered substrate specificities, and attempts have been reported to scale-up reactions catalyzed by these enzymes. Cofactor regeneration is still a key issue in these developments. Protein engineering contributed to understandin...
متن کاملDecreases in molecularity promote conversion when reactions are catalyzed by enzymes immobilized in slab-shaped beads
Application of Fick's ®rst law to substrate undergoing chemical reaction catalyzed by an enzyme immobilized in a porous slab-shaped bead leads to substrate concentration pro®les that are ̄atter when the ratio of stoichiometric coef®cients of product to reactant (m) is lower. Since the actual effectiveness factor decreases when m increases (at approximately the same rate irrespective of the valu...
متن کاملEstolides Synthesis Catalyzed by Immobilized Lipases
Estolides are vegetable-oil-based lubricants obtained from oleic acid or any source of hydroxy fatty acids. In this work, the estolides synthesis from oleic acid and methyl ricinoleate (biodiesel from castor oil), using immobilized commercial lipases (Novozym 435, Lipozyme RM-IM, and Lipozyme TL-IM) in a solvent-free medium was investigated. Acid value was used to monitor the reaction progress ...
متن کاملAnalytical applications of immobilized enzymes.
Several clinical laboratory methods using enzymes as reagents now may utilize immobilized enzymes. These are enzymes attached to solid surfaces by adsorption, covalent binding, cross linking or similar means. Immobilized enzymes are widely used presently in convenient tests for urine glucose and galactose or blood glucose and urea, and in serum glucose or urea determinations by automated method...
